2024 Diving Chess World Championship

Congratulations to Michal Mazurkiewicz and Alex Freeland for sharing Gold in the 2024 Diving Chess World Championship, which took place on Sunday, September 15th at the Leonardo Hotel Spa at 45 Prescot Street E1 8GP, in London. Alex and Michal both scored 3.5 points out of 4 (winning three games and drawing one). With 3 points out of 4, the bronze medal was won by Stefan Vu Richter from Germany, who recently participated in the first Diving Chess tournament in Germany, where coincidentally he also took third place.

MICHAŁ MAZURKIEWICZ SETS NEW DIVING CHESS SIMUL WORLD RECORD!

On the 21st of April Michał Mazurkiewicz attempted a new Guinness World Record by playing Diving Chess simultaneously against 16 different chess players and winning at least 80% of the matches. Michał has been the Diving Chess World Champion for the last few years and had previously played against 8 players. On April 21st, he was able to score 13.5 points out of the maximum 16 (with 12 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss). His only loss was to an International Master, Piotr Brodowski, who has an ELO of 2424. We are waiting for Guinness to verify the results and congratulate Michał for his incredible feat!
